After months of work with the very talented team at Madden Media, the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail (CLWT) is proud to announce their new mobile application. The app's primary function is to serve as a wayfinding tool for those navigating the Trail. Available on both Apple and Android operating systems, it's the visitor's digital guide to all sixteen member wineries, and more.
Upon opening the app, each winery has its own designated page which showcases their tasting room and information such as business hours, contact information, dining options and additional offerings like guided winery tours or live music series. The winery menu also has a live feed for each winery's current hours, indicating which are open, and until what hour. This is especially useful during the winter, when some locations shorten their hours of operation or close for a day during the middle of the week.
Individual winery listings are also integrated with the business' social media. Fans can check in, like, comment or tweet about their experiences on Facebook and Twitter.
In addition to the wineries' data, the app lists CLWT associates in an "Along the Trail" category. Here, the user will find separate groupings for accommodations, attractions, dining, transportation companies and listings of tourism visitor services.
Above all, each category has its own Google Map that illustrates the user's proximity to their destination, with turn-by-turn navigation available at the touch of a button. The app is integrated with the phone or tablet's navigation program, for an easy-to-use platform that people are familiar with.
Then, useful when trip planning in advance or if already in the area, the app has a detailed Event Calendar which lists all Trail events, such as Mardi Gras, Bacon on the Lakein, Wine & Herb and the Holiday Shopping Spree, as well as winery events, such as live music, specialty tastings, and wine dinners.
The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail mobile application is on both the Google Play Store as well as the Apple App Store with any mobile device. Those traveling through America's First Wine Trail will see breathtaking views of Cayuga Lake, Taughannock Falls, and hillside vineyards dotted with wineries, cideries, distilleries, a meadery and a brewery. The Trail welcomes visitors year-round.
