Treleaven's Wine 'n Wags to Help Raise Support for the Tompkins County SPCA

Aug 02, 2017

Enjoy an evening of food, wine and fun for you and your dog on Treleaven grounds during the Wine 'n Wags on Saturday, August 12 from 3PM - 9:30PM to help raise awareness and money for the Tompkins County SPCA.

“We’re very excited to continue our support for the SPCA of Tompkins County through our Sophistocrat wine line, as well as through this event," said Michelle Kokot, Marketing Manager at Treleaven. "Our hope is to help spread the word of the need to find homes for shelter pets, all while having a great time. This is going to be a fun event that raises awareness for a local charity and we encourage the community to get involved.”

The Sophistocrat wine line is made up of four sweet wines, including the rebranded Saumon, Gilded Lily and Mystére, and the newest addition, the Apple Mystique.  The labels incorporate imaginative, playful labels of illustrated animals, as well as the SPCA branding on the foil capsule.  A portion of the purchase price is donated to the local SPCA in their continuing work to advance the safety and well being of animals in the local area.

The fundraising event will kick off at 3 p.m. with one of Ithaca's best dance bands, Radio London, followed by the funk & soul of the Finger Lakes, The Jeff Love Band starting at 6:30 p.m. As you're browsing and shopping the pup and human-friendly vendors, grab a bite to eat from the Silo Food Truck and Dos AmigosCayuga Lake Creamery and Silver Street Rd. Kettlecorn Co. will also be providing snacks. Wash it all down with a glass of wine, beer or a wine slushy.

The event will also include a raffle that features pet and human-related items donated by local businesses.  Prizes include a $75 gift certificate to Just a Taste, a Wine & Design class for five valued at $175, complimentary tickets to Darien Lake Theme Park and more! One hundred percent of the money collected via the raffle, as well as 5% of Sophistocrat wine sales will go directly to the local SPCA.

“We are so grateful to the local businesses that contributed the fantastic prizes for our raffle,” added Kokot.  “The evening will be a wonderful opportunity for our business and our customers to get together for a good time and benefit a very worthy cause in the process.”
