Montezuma Winery & Hidden Marsh Distillery wins 2 Gold medals at the 2010 New York Wine & Food Classic in Canandaigua, New York. Gold medals we awarded to:
Montezuma Winery Semi-Sweet Mead:
Created from their own blend of honey this light bodied wine is smooth with wonderful tones of honey and beeswax and a lingering honey finish. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months then aged in the bottle for 1 year. Mead (honey wine) dates back to biblical times and was very popular in early England. In fact, the term “honeymoon” relates to the early English custom of newlyweds drinking mead for the first month of their marriage. Excellent with sushi, fish dishes, spicy cuisine.
Hidden Marsh Distillery Maple Liqueur:
As part of the Hidden Marsh Distillery Marshland Series, the maple liqueur is produced from a blend of premium New York State maple syrup and their ultra premium BEE Vodka. This sweet liqueur has notes of maple and a toasty warm finish. Enjoy as an after dinner sipper. 20% Alcohol (40 Proof). $24.99/bottle.
Montezuma Winery also wins a Silver medal for their infamous Cranberry Bog cranberry wine and Hidden Marsh Distillery’s BEE Vodka. A bronze medal was awarded to Montezuma’s Wetland White, a blend of Vidal Blanc and Traminette.
