Kayak and Canoe on Cayuga with Buttonwood Grove Winery (past)
**Cancelled**
Join us for a 1-hour kayak paddle on the peaceful waters of Cayuga Lake to look and listen for migratory birds including Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, and more.
No paddling experience is necessary and instructions will be provided. Following the paddle, we will visit the Buttonwood Grove Winery tasting room where staff will walk us through a selection of wine and food pairings. To wrap up the event, Daena Ford of Braddock Bay Raptor Research will lead a live bird of prey presentation where you will get up-close views of hawks, falcons, and owls. The event will run rain or shine. If it rains, the paddle will become a guided birding hike at the winery. Bring your binoculars and camera to capture images of the beautiful habitats and wildlife.
- The paddle will launch from Dean's Cove Boat Launch on Cayuga Lake (5761 State Route 89 Romulus, NY 14541).
- Please plan to meet at Dean's Cove at 9:45am to get fitted for boats if you are renting. We will drive to Buttonwood Grove Winery after the paddle (1 mile away, 5986 State Route 89 Romulus, NY 14541).
- Fee: $45/person with kayak rental, $35/person with no kayak rental
- This event is 21+ and winery staff may ask for identification
- Space is limited and pre-paid registration is required.
